Does the MHS provide materials through interlibrary loan (ILL)?

The MHS is a non-circulating library and most of the collections must be consulted in our reading room or through our reproduction services. The exception to the rule is microfilm. If the Society possesses a duplicate positive copy of a microfilm set then you can request an interlibrary loan of up to 5 reels concurrently for a period of 30 days.

To find out if a specific microfilm collection is available for a loan, contact the Library Reader Services staff.

All ILL requests can be submitted to the Curator of Rare Books & Visual Materials, Mary Yacovone, via email at myacovone@masshist.org or via telephone at 617-646-0504. Include the collection title, microfilm call number, and the reel(s) desired.
