All researchers are encouraged to request an appointment in advance of arriving at the MHS. To request an appointment you must create a user account in Portal1791 (see more below). When you log in to your Portal1791 account, click the "Appointments" tab in the red banner at the top of the screen and then follow the prompts. Researchers with confirmed appointments will be guaranteed a seat in the reading room on their appointment date. Walk in researchers will be accommodated if spots are available on the daily schedule.
